Ceramic Grinding Services

Ferro-Ceramic’s Unit Cell Production Approach

Here at Ferro-Ceramic, we pride ourselves on our production quality and efficiency. Every step of our ceramic grinding services and production process is carefully coordinated and exercised for efficiency and quality.

Ferro-Ceramic production facilities are strategically arranged to capitalize on the inherent manufacturing efficiencies derived from the Unit Cell approach. In cellular manufacturing, the flow of materials and components from one step of the production process to the next is critical for maximum efficiency without sacrificing quality.

By grouping machines of similar functions, bottlenecks can be anticipated and avoided, allowing work to flow without interruption. Instead of producing numerous components in a batch and sending them off to the next machine (as with large-lot production), Ferro-Ceramic’s process moves one unit at a time based on the customer’s needs. This approach to ceramic CNC machining gives Ferro-Ceramic more flexibility to customers’ demands without time delays or diminished quality.

Ferro-Ceramic’s Versatile and Expert Staff

Another advantage used here at Ferro-Ceramic is training staff on multiple parts of the ceramic grinding process. Ferro-Ceramic’s staff are trained to operate various units so they can be deployed on any machine within their cell, ensuring that there’s always a knowledgeable operator available when a grinder or lathe is needed and becomes available.

Too often, the grinding process comes to a halt because a problem arises within a machine that a worker isn’t trained on, even though it’s within their cell. That’s not an issue at Ferro-Ceramic, as our staff receives complete training on all the machines within their cell, so if ceramic machining issues develop, multiple staff are trained to devise a solution.

Ferro-Ceramic’s Advanced Tools and Machines

All of the training and expertise in the world won’t matter much if we don’t have the proper machines to do the job. Here at Ferro-Ceramic, we take pride in the quality of our machines and our diligent maintenance to ensure that they work just as well on the next project as they did on the last project.

Our machines are cooled by an aqueous-based central coolant system that removes contaminants down to three microns. Additionally, we maintain a close relationship with diamond tool manufacturers, which allows us to utilize wheels and fixtures designed specifically for each job.
